About NewFilmmakers
NewFilmmakers NY Series The NewFilmmakers Screening Series selects films and videos often overlooked by traditional film festivals. NewFilmmakers NY screens every week at Anthology Film Archives and usually has its Documentary Series at 6:00, Short Film Program at 7:00, and Feature Presentations at 8:00. The NewFilmmakers Series began in 1998 and over the past twelve years has screened over 600 feature and 2,000 short films. In 2000 we brought the Havana Film Festival to New York and in 2002 we started NewFilmmakers Los Angeles. Many well-known shorts and features including Blair Witch and Too Much Sleep have had their initial screenings at NewFilmmakers. NewFilmmakers LA now screens monthly at the Sunset Gower Studio in Hollywood. Last year we began NewFilmmakers Online, which gives filmmakers the opportunity to exhibit and distribute their films directly to the public. Check our schedule online at www.NewFilmmakers.com for updated information. NewFilmmakers is sponsored by Barney Oldfield Management, Angelika Entertainment, Prophet Pictures, SXM, and H2O Distribution.
