His original screenplay 'Bemoana' is an ambitious retelling of 'Little Red Riding Hood' -- a story of sexual abuse and revenge set against the backdrop of an isolated New England cabin. The edgy concept generates a buzz and attracts an eager student crew, ready to work for free to prove their professional mettle. As the shoot draws near, we learn that Maurice's father has generously offered a large budget and the family vacation cabin to be set on fire in the film's climactic sequence. These advantages, however, prove to be no match for the students' inexperience, which slowly cause the shoot to spiral wildly out of control. |
